Well, I guess I should jump on “it” and post these fireworks photos. Everyone else is doing it, so why not follow suit.
I got to cover the fireworks again this year, but I got to scope out my own spot. Earlier in the day, I went to Laurel Park and spoke with the man responsible for setting up the fireworks show. He told me a couple of places I could shoot from, where I would be able to get the lake in my photos (because come on, the best part about where I work is the lake, Lanier that is).
Anyhoo, a few hours before the fireworks I drove out to the street that the fireworks man suggested and, thanks to my GPS, I found a house that was closest to the lake and had the best view of the show.
I basically had to sneak around the house because everyone was outside, but I soon found a group of really nice people that were more than accommodating to my request to shoot from their front yard.
The fireworks were literally right in front of us. I almost felt too close at times, but it all worked out I think.
Don’t really feel like putting up captions, but you get it….a firefighter being pulled around by his daughter. Cute right?
Kids walking in zee water.

Master Gardener Ron Brechter poses with a daylily called “Big Doc.” Bretcher, who will be competing in the daylily show for the second time, won’t know which 17-18 daylilies he will enter until the morning of the competition.
